KenTel is an ICT for Development non-profit organization which has undertaken projects targeting farmers and community member using various ICTs, the technologies we have used range from interactive voice systems (IVR), short text message services (SMS) using Frontline SMS, social media and interactive websites. We arrived at the idea having had an opportunity to develop animations and explainer videos for the mass voter registration and voter education for the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) –  )). We realised that its application could be very handy in agriculture extension work enabling extension officers to deliver training remotely and to provide lifelong learning for farmers. This aligns with AFAAS objective of ensuring availability and accessibility of agricultural advisory services due to its scalability within Africa and the World.
