The AFAAS-MDTF II Project aims to provide human resource development support for advisors and farmers in all AFAAS activities including without limitation the adapting and piloting of innovations and technologies; scaling up and out innovations from research such as ICT tools; capacity strengthening of AEAS; and studies on climate change among others. The LandInfo mobile app is a result of a two year pilot research in Kenya and Namibia working with farmers, pastoralists, extension agents, conservationists and land-use planners. The app was launched in April 2015 in Kenya after its first full development and ever since then efforts are being made to sensitize target beneficiaries (especially farmers and extension agents) about the technology and subsequently build their capacities to deploy this unique technology in the field to support farm decision-making for increased agricultural productivity and resilience.
